1929 Ford SALT FLATS ROADSTER
A Custom Hot Rod Revival
Every build has a story, and this one is truly special. The 1929 Ford Salt Flats Roadster, originally purchased over 40 years ago, was destined for restoration the moment its classic lines were seen. Our project embodies the spirit of Detroit’s custom hot rodding tradition, transforming a car built from a pile of sheet metal into a precision-engineered roadster ready to race at Bonneville.
Although we didn’t build this car entirely on our own, a talented team of craftsmen and the owner’s vision came together to revitalize its iconic design. Starting with raw sheet metal, the restoration delved deep into the body lines—hanging new metal, shaping door skins without latches for that rugged Bonneville look, and employing power hammer work to achieve flawless details. Every step, from aligning the front-end sheet metal to meticulously fitting firewall components and sill plates, reflected our commitment to quality and precision.
This completed build isn’t just about large, flashy panels; it’s the careful attention to every detail that transformed a classic hot rod into a timeless work of art. We are proud to have played a part in giving this legendary roadster a new lease on life.
