2025 Detroit Autorama

1933 FORD PICKUP ROADSTER

GREAT EIGHT FINALIST

A stunning culmination of vision, craftsmanship, and innovation, this 1933 Ford Pickup Roadster represents everything Detroit Metal Shaping stands for. Built from a modified Speed 33 reproduction body, this project demanded exceptional attention to detail and precision metal shaping at every stage.

The roadster features a completely custom back half, with the cab crafted from scratch to maintain perfect proportions with the functioning convertible topstack. Every panel tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship – from the modified SAR fenders to the custom-built bed with handcrafted trim strips and wood inserts.

Beneath its flawless metallic raspberry finish lies a Roush Performance FE 511 producing 600 HP and 600 ft-lb of torque, complemented by custom-designed valve covers, velocity stacks, and oil breathers. The 121" wheelbase chassis by Precision Hot Rods features fully polished Kugel IFS and IRS suspension systems.

This build showcases our seamless blend of traditional metal shaping techniques with cutting-edge technology. Throughout the project, we utilized 3D printing, CAD modeling, and digital scanning to achieve unprecedented precision and efficiency. The custom wheels, designed by the Root Brothers, combine rally wheel and Indy-style Halibrand aesthetics with a concealed center lug system.

Recognized as one of the Great Eight finalists at the 2025 Detroit Autorama, this roadster represents years of vision, commitment to excellence, and collaboration with some of the industry's finest craftsmen.
